The process

How it works

01

Submit your request

Fill out our online form or email us. We respond within 24 to 48 business hours.

02

We find the right match

Every request is read carefully. Our team takes the time to understand your situation and directs you to the psychologist whose profile, approach and availability best fit your needs. Because the right match changes everything.

03

The first meeting

The first session is an intake interview - an in-depth exploration of who you are, your history and what brings you to therapy. Your psychologist takes the time to understand your life context, your difficulties and your expectations. That's where the work takes shape.

04

Follow-up can begin

The work can begin. Duration, frequency and goals are set with your psychologist, and adjusted as you progress. In person or online, at your own pace.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? Here are the answers to the most common ones.

At Épines & Roses, a session costs $160 on average. This rate may vary slightly from one psychologist to another. We issue official receipts after each session, valid for private insurance reimbursement.

Sessions are not directly reimbursed by your insurer - you pay for the session, then submit the receipt to your insurance for reimbursement. Most group and private insurance plans in Quebec cover part or all of the cost of services from an OPQ-member psychologist. We recommend checking your coverage directly with your insurer before starting.

No. Psychology services in private practice are not covered by the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ). Private psychotherapy is a paid service, the cost of which may however be partially or fully reimbursed by a group or private insurance plan depending on your coverage.

No. Épines & Roses is a private-practice psychology clinic and does not accept mandates from institutional third-party payers such as IVAC, CNESST, SAAQ or employee assistance programs (EAP). If you need these services, we encourage you to consult the Ordre des psychologues du Québec to find a professional who offers them.

There's no universal answer. Some people reach their goals in 8 to 12 sessions; others prefer longer-term follow-up for deeper work. From the first meeting, your psychologist will assess your needs with you and adjust the follow-up as you go.

For smooth and secure management, the clinic only accepts payments by Interac e-transfer. Receipts are issued after each session.

You don't have to make that choice alone. When you first reach out, our team takes the time to read your request and directs you to the psychologist whose profile and approach best match your situation. You can also indicate your preferences in the form.
